REalliance Community Interest Company

LCRN played a leading role in the formation of REalliance CIC, a partnership with Community Recycling Network (CRN), Community Composting Network (CCN), and Furniture Reuse Network (FRN). The company was formed to benefit third sector groups working in waste reduction, reuse, composting and recycling and the people living in the areas that these groups serve. REalliance has succeeded in aligning the working practices of its partners, securing £5 million for the sector and demonstrating leadership in the third sector with respect to resource efficiency.

Redefining Resource

LCRN’s vision is of London as a city that manages resources sustainably to maximise community and environmental benefit. Realisation of this ambitious vision will depend on the efforts and commitment of many more organisations and communities than those currently within our network, and we must reach well beyond the traditional waste sector to achieve our resource efficiency and equity goals. By changing our name to London Community Resource Network we are sending an important signal that we are working beyond waste, which is, after all, simply resource in the wrong place.
