London CRN is a registered charity which is dedicated to the vision of a world where resources are managed sustainably by the community, the authorities and enterprise. To achieve this, London CRN:

• helps community organisations, social enterprises and the wider public engage in recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
• supports community organisations and social enterprises to become more effective in their use of resources.
• develops and promotes emerging community reuse and recycling initiatives and partnerships.
• represents community organisations and social enterprises engaged in recycling, reuse and waste reduction to government and other key stakeholders
• provides excellent services and targeted support to community organisations and social enterprises engaged in recycling, reuse and waste reduction

London CRN works to make community-based sustainable waste management the preferred solution – financially, socially and environmentally – for the people of London. The organisation is working to achieve this though the implementation of the following projects:

strategy days

London CRN focuses its work on accountability, transparency and being user-led. To ensure this, London CRN has an annual strategy day with its members.  The conclusions from the strategy day are the basis by which London CRN forward plans the next year's and future years' activities.

history

London CRN was initially set up in 1997, and first fully established and staffed in November 2000. In May 2001 London CRN was incorporated as a Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee, with charitable objectives. This type of company has no share capital, is owned by no individuals, and may be seen as a socially owned enterprise.
