Wandsworth Big Society Fund (small grants fund)
Deadline: 31st May and 17th October 2011

It will fund projects which:
(a) Encourage, promote and support active citizenship, civic action and volunteering.
(b) Support the aims of the borough’s sustainable community strategy, Our Wandsworth 2018, to make Wandsworth safer, healthier, more prosperous and sustainable;
(c) Show support from within the relevant community; and
(d) Draw in other resources from the community or elsewhere to complement the Council’s contribution.

The following area eligible:
(a) An existing constituted ‘not for profit organisation’ or ‘civil society’ organisation based in the Borough of Wandsworth with an income of less than £50,000;
(b) any informal group of individuals based in the Borough of Wandsworth, but also includes more formal groups such as a residents’ or tenants’ association; business association, cultural group; sports organisation; scouts, cubs and guide troops, parent/teacher association, etc

Ward Councillor support.
All applications will need the endorsement of a local ward councillor. This is to ensure that applications meet a local need, have demonstrable local support and meet with the broad aims of the Fund.

Match funding.
Bids between £1,000 and £5,000 will need to provide evidence of match funding. This can include in-kind donations e.g. discounted fees or rent as well as costed volunteer time.

Bexley Voluntary Service Council - Corporate small grants scheme
Deadling: June 3 2011

The Corporate Small Grants Scheme runs annually with bids invited for grants up to £2,000. The scheme draws together and builds on previous small grants schemes, including those previously operating in Social and Community Services and Children and Young People's Services.

The scheme provides funding for new or innovative projects, one-off projects or activities, development costs and one-off investments or purchases that will provide benefits for Bexley residents and assist the Council in delivering its priorities, below:
1. Supporting Capacity in the local Voluntary Sector
2. Contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Community Engagement and Consultation Strategy
3. Promoting safety and tackling anti-social behaviour
4. Improving performance of vulnerable children
5. Promoting health and well-being
6. Ensuring fair access to information and choice in services people need
7. Supporting people’s contribution to the community and prosperity
