Collectively, London CRN members are the largest provider of recycling services in London. Members contribute to meeting national and London recycling and waste minimisation targets through actively providing direct and/or ancillary services or related activities in sustainable recycling, re-use and reprocessing. Services are carried out as stand alone activities or in partnership other organisations in the community, voluntary, private and public sectors.

Member organisations vary in size from 1-2 voluntary members to 900 employees and have a wide turnover range of £1000 to £40M pa.

Members can be defined as 'a group/enterprise with social values involved in community-based sustainable waste management'. Community Recyclers work with both municipal and commercial sectors in four main areas, which are not necessarily absolute:

  • Recycling - focusing on collection and reprocessing of both household and commercial dry recyclable waste
  • Composting - providing services and support for composting of organic waste
  • Re-use - target manufactured goods that can be refurbished or repaired
  • Reduction - providing services and support around minimising and preventing waste
